Pro-Torque Introduces Multi-Clutch Diesel Extreme-Duty Torque Converter

Pro-Torque has been building diesel custom lock-up torque converters for more than 10 years. For most Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax turbo diesels its custom single clutch converters with lowered stall speeds and larger ceramic-impregnated clutches are more than adequate. However, the latest trucks with increased towing capacities and higher torque outputs require more extreme measures.

For those enthusiasts who are modifying their diesels for more power (1,000 lb.ft. and up), or towing max loads, Pro-Torque has introduced its Diesel Triple Clutch custom torque converter. It lowers the stall speed from typical O.E. 2,000-2,500rpm settings, to 1,400-1,900rpm (depending upon application) where maximum torque is produced. The multi-clutch design increases torque capacity by 288% over stock O.E. converters. These converters feature a billet front cover with a sophisticated laser-cut, billet lockup clutch plate assembly. Like all Pro-Torque converters they also have hardened billet splines, furnace-brazed fins, Torrington bearings and are computer balanced and pressure tested.
