Installation Tips
Before starting your project it is important to have a clean area to work from in order to get the job done right.
Step1:Please lubricate pump drive hub and fill with 1 to 2 quarts of oil before installing.

Step2:Carefully install torque converter onto transmission. There are three sets of splines to engage, make sure they are all fully engaged before installing the transmission onto the motor. Rotating the torque converter in either direction will aide in installation.

Step3:Clean and inspect crankshaft, dowel pins and flywheel for wear, burrs, cracks, or any other damage. If possible place the torque up against the back of the motor to check fit against flywheel

Step 4:Always be sure to use proper bolt length and size. Improper bolt length will cause damage to the clutch assembly. Proper bolt kits are available for every application. (Damage due to improper bolt length will void any warranty.)

Step 5:Due to variances in overall heights, be sure to check clearances between the torque converter mounting pads and the flywheel after the transmission is bolted to the motor. After installation be sure to check that the flywheel and torque converter spin freely after and that they are not binding. Clearance between the flywheel and the converter should be 1/16" to 3/16", any more than this should shimmed properly with available shim kit.

Step 6:Contamination in the cooling system, cooling lines, radiator, auxiliary cooler or transmission will ruin your brand new torque converter. To avoid this always make sure that the cooling lines and or cooler have been properly cleaned or replaced. PROTORQUE highly recommends the use of a transmission fluid cooler in any performance or heavy duty application.

Step 7:After installation and road test make sure to recheck fluid level.
